As they say, time flies when you’re having fun

And just like that, it’s the middle of April!

Time has seriously been flying in 2023, and I’m happy to finally be taking a moment to share an update. I’m feeling good about how things have been going, from building relationships with new clients to bolstering the body of work with existing accounts. At the beginning of the year, I set some goals that I hoped to achieve by the end of 2023, and I’ve already checked some of those off the list! So, when I say things have been busy beyond expectation (and therefore preventing me from writing one of these things each month), you can believe me!

Checking Off Business Goals

One of the goals I made in January was to add five new corporate accounts by the end of the year, and I’m excited to say that I checked that one off by the end of March! Some highlights from those new clients include website updates for hometown-favorite Fun on the Run, a suite of content for Tazewell County Resource Centers, and—one I’m particularly excited about—new content for Louisville Slugger Sports Complex here in Peoria. Check out some screenshots below from a couple new pieces for Slugger that you’ll be seeing in various digital placements in the coming months.

After this very positive start, I’m very happy with the projections for the rest of the year. Wedding season is nearly upon us, and that schedule combined with more corporate projects should make for plenty of fresh content to share.

Speaking of Sports…

Speaking of sports, I recently completed a video for the East Peoria Community High School softball program ahead of their season opener in March. The whole team was buzzing on production day, and it made me happy to see everyone having so much fun. It was a little chilly when we filmed the on-field portion, but I think it was worth it! Take a look below.

In Other News

Aside from the business, one big thing I’m looking forward to this year is that my wife, Ashlyn, and I finally get to go on our honeymoon! Between work and various other world events, it’s been in the works for quite a while, but we just confirmed our 2 weeks in Europe to soak up some sunshine. Plus, friends are getting married, we’ve got tickets to some great concerts, and we’ll be traveling to see family; so it’s busy, but in the best way.

Right now, I’m feeling refreshed by some time to reflect on everything that’s been going on. I’ve always tried to make sure the work-life balance is actually balanced, and it definitely can be tricky. But, now that I’ve got a better handle on the editing pipeline and the status of a some upcoming work, I’m ready to get back at it with a clear mind and renewed focus.

As always, thanks for being here and don’t forget to enjoy this weather as it warms up a bit!
