An early summer recap

Long time, no blog post!

Since my last update in April, things have picked up quite a bit—did some traveling, finished a few projects, and booked more weddings. Particularly excited this month about another new piece with Veloxity Labs, going live on June 16 at Peoria Mayor Rita Ali’s State of the City address. I’ve mentioned them a few times before, but Veloxity is doing some very exciting things for the community in terms of biotech careers; check out a preview of some recent work I did for them. ⬇️

Another highlight of May was completing a project for Alwan & Sons Meat Company here in Peoria. We had perfect weather for a backyard barbecue shoot, and the final product had my mouth watering.

I’ve also officially become a member of the East Peoria Chamber of Commerce, an organization I’ve long had a connection with both through personal and professional relationships. Most of their events are held in the fall, so I’m planning to come up with some unique activations to make an impact.

Other than work, both Ashlyn and I have been diligently tending to our garden and flower beds (if anyone has tips on keeping ants and birds off of plants, let me know). We’re planning a couple trips for the rest of the summer, too, and working on expanding our breadth of experience when it comes to kayaking.

Also, my dad and I went to our first Peoria City soccer game! It’s awesome to finally have an organized soccer club in town, and the game was fun to watch. We’ll definitely be back soon, and the sunset views just add to the experience.

(Left/Top) Toby enjoyed a windy evening camping. (Right/Bottom) We sat near the supporter section at the Peoria City game, and the drumline was excellent.

I’m looking forward to soaking up more of the warm weather and digging into some upcoming work in the next couple of weeks. My door is always open for new partnerships, so if you’re looking for a new way to engage your customers or a wedding film turned around in three weeks or less, I’m your guy! Thanks for being here.

  • What I’m listening to: Colter Wall, John Denver, Linkin Park, Leon Bridges
